Static Adventure

During 2020 the world had become more still than it had for a long time due to the restrictions of the global pandemic. At the same time, I was wrestling with an injury to my leg that left me unable to walk more than a short distance. For many years I’ve enjoyed adventure in the wild but also found hope and possibility in the adventures of the mind. Inspired by the place I found myself in, I returned to writing and producing music, something I had left behind years earlier. Working on my own and enjoying the discovery of how much opportunity music technology now provides I put together this first album. Its experimental in places, comfort music at times, indulgent of my own tastes perhaps too much, but it is my first step on a journey toward sharing my own musical imagination with others through recording and production and I hope that you find enjoyment in that. Each piece is an original work apart from the final track which is a reworking of the tune by C H Parry for words by Tennyson. It is a solo album with some vocal work provided by Hannah Waterfield.
